Do you have anything to prove, to anyone, whether in performance or in your injury recovery?
If you answered yes, then this episode is for you!
In the last solo episode of Season 2, I share one of the greatest lessons my mentor, Dr Ray Smith taught me about performing:
It's not about me.
The moment I become self-centered in my playing, instead of service-centered, that is when my brain will go into fight/flight/freeze, and performance anxiety would rear its ugly head.
How has this manifested itself in my injury recovery?
In my humble opinion, the clearest path to recovery (which will never be 100% clear by the way) is this:
To focus on having nothing to prove, but having everything to share.
If you do that, you will give yourself the grace to heal, but have the fire to give back, and serve, and heal your inner vessel as you work through your physical recovery.
I can't think of a better way to start to wrap up Season 2!
Keep on keepin' on and trust the process!
